Complicated tree trimming jobs can be dangerous and it is highly recommended that you rely upon a professional Kansas city tree trimming company for the safest results. We at Safety Tree care a lot about your safety and the safety of your home. When it comes to the trees in Kansas City, trimming of dead branches on a regular basis will keep your property looking polished and healthy. If it is done correctly, it is okay to trim your trees in between the annual professional trimming appointments. The first step to correct DIY trimming techniques is using the correct equipment.
There are a variety of tools that can be used to trim your own trees, but here are the three main tools you will need for small trimming jobs.
Pruning Shears/Hand Pruners – This tool is able to cut through twigs under one inch in diameter, but there are different types of pruning shears too. Use bypass pruning shears, which look like a pair of scissors, for live twigs and use anvil pruning shears for any dead twigs.
Loppers – Loppers are used to trim medium-sized branches that are two inches in diameter and are specifically recommended for fruiting or flowering trees. Similar to pruning shears, use bypass loppers for live branches and anvil loppers for dead branches.
Pole Pruner – This extension tool helps you reach the hard to get dead wood in a tree. Please do not use this tool while on a ladder and remember to watch your head for falling debris.
Keep in mind that these tools can only cut up to a maximum diameter of two inches and anything thicker than that will require professional tools. Safety Tree is ready to help you with your Kansas City, KS tree trimming needs at your residence.

Safety Tree Service did a great job trimming several elm and ash trees for me, as well as a few pin oaks. The pin oaks had various dead limbs that needed to be removed and other limbs that needed to be thinned. Ty did an excellent job removing the dead wood and trimming the trees, which helped reduce risk of damage from limbs falling and greatly improved the health and overall appearance of the trees. With the recent bad weather I’m glad I hired Ty as I’m confident one of the limbs would have come down on a power line. I received bids from multiple tree trimmers and Ty’s bid was very competitive and he was able to provide proof of insurance. Some of the other bidders offered lower prices but were not insured! I do recommend Ty to others as he did a great job for me.

We use Ty and his staff at Safety Tree exclusively for all of our tree work referrals. Our company conducts grounds maintenance on a wide variety of residential and commercial properties. We have referred our customers to Ty because they continually tell me how exceptional their overall experience was with Safety Tree. I have heard everything from “experts”, to “very professional”, to “very skilled”, to “clean” and “fair” used to describe their encounters.
