Attempting to trim or remove trees around your Overland Park home by yourself is a dangerous project. The risks of doing it on your own are not worth the benefit. You should leave complicated projects such as these to professionals who have the correct equipment, extensive experience, and who believe in safe practices.
Falling off of a roof or ladder is one of the most common injuries when trimming or cutting trees. Be mindful of how far out you are leaning and don’t try to extend your reach beyond your normal span. Someone else should be standing nearby to spot you while you work on the ladder to serve as an extra set of eyes for safety reasons. Working on top of a roof can be even trickier due to the steep incline, wearing improper footwear, or walking on crumbling materials. Whether you are on a ladder or a roof, it’s not enough to be cautious.
Trees are home to various animals and insects, so by trimming or cutting down a tree you are disturbing the wildlife living there. It is highly possibility to be attacked by small animals such as: squirrels, skunks, and raccoons or by insects like wasps or bees.
Tree trimming and tree removal require the correct protective gear from head-to-toe. Our team has had many years of experience and a a high knowledge base of the proper tools that are used to any given job. Most people do not have the advanced equipment we use on hand so it is best to leave the project to a professional tree removal and tree trimming company that already own the necessary equipment.
Always assume that a power line is live. Avoid coming into any contact with the lines and be careful that neither your body nor the tools cross paths with the lines. When power lines hang too close to the house or trees, there is an increased risk of danger to you and your property. Call a professional to fix this issue instead of trying to handle it yourself — the results of touching a power line could be fatal.
By all means possible, we want you to stay safe and unharmed when working on a large project such as trimming trees or tree removal. Safety Tree Service did a great job trimming several elm and ash trees for me, as well as a few pin oaks. The pin oaks had various dead limbs that needed to be removed and other limbs that needed to be thinned. Ty did an excellent job removing the dead wood and trimming the trees, which helped reduce risk of damage from limbs falling and greatly improved the health and overall appearance of the trees. With the recent bad weather I’m glad I hired Ty as I’m confident one of the limbs would have come down on a power line. I received bids from multiple tree trimmers and Ty’s bid was very competitive and he was able to provide proof of insurance. Some of the other bidders offered lower prices but were not insured! I do recommend Ty to others as he did a great job for me.

We use Ty and his staff at Safety Tree exclusively for all of our tree work referrals. Our company conducts grounds maintenance on a wide variety of residential and commercial properties. We have referred our customers to Ty because they continually tell me how exceptional their overall experience was with Safety Tree. I have heard everything from “experts”, to “very professional”, to “very skilled”, to “clean” and “fair” used to describe their encounters. I would not hesitate at all to recommend Safety Tree to any private or public entity or for any project regardless of scope or size.
